A-ROSA Sylt

The hotel is in List, at the northern end of Sylt, where dunes, North Sea beaches, harbour paths and Wadden Sea landscapes shape the surroundings. List harbour is around 900 metres away and is useful for ferry arrivals from Rømø, local restaurants and waterside walks. The Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten is also close by, while the Ellenbogen peninsula and Sylt’s long west coast beaches are best reached by car, bike or local transport. Westerland is the main rail and air gateway on the island, with onward travel to List by car, bus or transfer.

• List Beach East – approx. 0.9 km: a nearby coastal area for fresh-air walks and sea views.
• List Harbour – approx. 900 metres / 8 minutes on foot: useful for restaurants, ferry connections and harbour walks.
• Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten – approx. 1 km: an interactive nature centre focused on Sylt’s weather, sea, dunes and coastal forces.
• Lister Ellenbogen peninsula – approx. 10 km by road: a distinctive northern Sylt landscape with dunes, beaches and wide coastal views.
• Lister Wanderdünen – reachable by car or bike: protected shifting dunes that show the wilder natural side of northern Sylt.
• Red Cliff / Rotes Kliff – approx. 13 km by road: a well-known coastal cliff area near Kampen, especially striking around sunset.
• Westerland Beach – approx. 17 km by road: Sylt’s busier main resort beach with promenade, shops and transport connections.
• Sylt Aquarium and Westerland centre – reachable by car or bus: useful for a more urban island day with shops and family attractions.

• Book spa treatments in advance, as massage and wellness appointments can fill quickly during poor weather and peak holiday periods.
• Use the Rømø–Sylt ferry if arriving from Denmark; the ferry docks at List harbour, close to the hotel area.
• For car arrivals from mainland Germany, check car-train availability before travelling, especially during summer and holiday weekends.
• Bring windproof layers for beach and dune walks, as Sylt’s North Sea weather can change quickly even in summer.
• Confirm dog rules before booking, including permitted room categories, beach-season restrictions and current nightly charges.

May to September is the main season for beach walks, cycling, outdoor dining and longer daylight on Sylt, with July and August usually the busiest. Spring and early autumn are useful for quieter dune walks and spa-focused stays. Winter is colder and windier, but it can suit wellness breaks, North Sea scenery and dog walks, with seasonal beach rules varying.
